AXF Code of Conduct

ATTITUDE:

  • All players should approach gameplay with Life's Golden Rule: "Treat others the way you would want them to treat you."
  • Anyone taking the field with us should play with honor and integrity, placing these values above winning. While all players want to win and will strive toward completing their scenario objectives, winning is always secondary to the enjoyment of the sport, the camaraderie, exercise, and the improvement of field craft skills.
  • Recognizing that Airsoft's safe future is dependent upon everyone having a good time and being left with positive impressions of our sport, all players should try to be helpful and friendly to new or inexperienced players.
  • Each player understands that cheating or un-sportsmanlike conduct is subject to review by club supervisors and potential loss of club play privileges. Repeated incidents will result in expulsion.
  • At all times players should treat all situations with good humor/sportsmanship and avoid any language that could escalate disputes beyond simple honest disagreements. Profanity is not prohibited, but we ask that all players try to avoid it if possible. This is out of respect for players that might take offense or do not enjoy hearing it.

GAME PLAY

1. Before the Game:

  • All airsoft guns must be chronographed and tagged before they are allowed into the playing area. Guns that exceed AXF fps limitations will not be allowed to participate. Only AXF chronograph measurements are valid for AXF games. Bringing an unchecked gun onto the playing field will be considered cheating.
  • AXF enforces a 1.5 Joule velocity limit. This works out to 402 FPS w/ 0.2 gram pellets, or 359 FPS w/ 0.25 gram pellets.
  • All AXF players must adhere to a minimum dress code when on the field at ALL times.
    • Eye protection with no gaps, rated for airsoft. Full face mask is optional, not compulsory. Safety goggles are not acceptable - it must be high velocity resistant.
    • BDU's or good sturdy clothing of some sort. Shorts, T-shirts, and similar casual attire are not acceptable dress while a scenario is being staged.
    • Man portable water storage device carried on person. The minimum acceptable is a canteen (we recommend camelbaks or similar). Though we have a certified medic on site at all times, heat stroke is 100% avoidable.
    • Ankle or higher combat/hiking boots - no sneakers, sandles, etc.
  • All players will be asked to sign a liability waiver before playing on AXF private fields. Failure to sign will disqualify a player from participation.
  • For fire safety reasons, smoking and the use of smoke bombs/flash bangs/pyrotechnic devices on the playing field is STRICTLY prohibited. Smoking is limited to designated areas.
  • Swiss army knives and small pocket knifes for utilitarian purposes are acceptable, but combat knives, real steel guns, and other inherently dangerous objects are forbidden. If a player is in doubt please show the item to the event organizers and they will make a judgment call. Failure to check any questionable gear with organizers may be grounds immediate disciplinary action.

2. During the Game:

  • All hits to any part of the body, ricochets, and weapon hits are considered kills. When in doubt, you are out! Keep in mind that many of our games use regeneration rules, and return is only minutes away. AXF players should call themselves out to avoid even the appearance of impropriety.
  • In most scenarios there will be a designated "Safe Zone" where all "Dead" players will move. Place your wound rag over your head as you move towards the "Safe Zone". If you are a fair distance from the "Safe Zone" and walking to it puts you into the middle of a potential combat zone, make it known to all "live" players that you are out by calling out "dead."
  • "Dead" players tell no tales!
  • If scenario rules are not clear to you please ask a game supervisor for rules clarification.
  • Surrender is mandatory. If a player calls surrender on you, you are out. At the same time, assaulting players should call surrender at distances under 15 feet and from angles at less than a 45 degree rear arc from a fellow player. Surrender calls should be made to ensure the safety of your opponent, not as a tactical maneuver. If you do not have the target dead to rights, do not call surrender.
  • If two players encounter each other at distances of 15 feet or less in the forward arc, they should call "parlay" and back off to a minimum safe distance. Again, this should be made to ensure the safety of your opponent, not as offensive or defensive tactical maneuver.
  • SAFETY is our first and primary concern. Avoid blind firing.
  • If a player loses his eye protection for some reason, he should immediately call "Blind Man." Game supervisors will immediately whistle a pause in the game until the affected player pronounces "All Clear", at which point supervisors will whistle the game to continue.

3. After the Game

  • Police all your trash. Pack out what you bring in.
  • Bring any questionable incidents to the two game supervisors' attentions immediately.
  • Relax. =)
